Black Range Bike Track Takes Shape

6 May 2014

Work on the Black Range Bike Track continued today, after reshaping the existing track yesterday, and is due for completion well before the upcoming Monumental Kids Mountain Bike Race on the 18th of May. Rod & Mark from AP Delany & Co have done a terrific job of translating Dylan & Marcus’s concept of sweeping bends and gentle undulations into reality.

The track’s main features are in place with some finessing of lines and track widths to be carried out after an early morning review by Marcus. An elevated marshalling and start area has been lowered and enlarged to accommodate the large field of riders expected at future events. Widening the starting straight should avoid mass pile ups at the first corner. Rolling hills and sweeping bends will allow kids to maintain momentum before they reach the high road/low road corner. Little kids can take the low easy route, while bigger kids can climb the rolling hill before sweeping down the other side.

surface.

The Albury Wodonga Mountain Bikers Club is very happy to have the support of Albury City on this project, and impressed with the high quality of work carried out by AP Delaney & Co.

Keep an eye out for finished track images coming soon.
